What's wrong with me?!

Damn it. I hate this. I just watched "What A Girl Wants" again and it just gets me every time. Not the movie itself. I love the movie, but really, it's a bit predictable, no matter how hot Oliver James is. But just the fact that it's in London kills me. All the scenes where they're just walking around London, shopping, talking, just existing... especially that one scene where Oliver James, I mean Ian (in the movie) is just standing at the Thames, thinking. My eyes just started fogging up as that familiar feeling returned, and I thought, "I wish I could do that."

Postcards from London make me happy, but they also make me cry. (That doesn't mean don't send them people. If you ever go anywhere near the UK, I DEMAND postcards and presents. It's your punishment for daring to go there without me.)

I'm being so ridiculous. I wish Elsa were here. She's the only one who understands exactly how this feels. Everyone else just knows better, that I'm a big idiot.

Time for recap

Sunday night: Slept over at Jen's

Now that was interesting. She went to Chile Monday morning, so she wanted to be tired for the really really long flight, so who do you call? Elaine to keep you awake all night. Other than general insanity, we cleaned her room, cleaned her bathroom, and I stuffed her suitcase. While... LISTENING TO MCFLY! WHee! And then we watched the Princess Diaries. I LOVE THAT MOVIE! I haven't seen it in like 3 years, after Amanda "borrowed" it and never gave it back, along with "Sweet Home Alabama". I never fancied Michael, though he's really sweet, but this time, I watched.. AHHH!!! HOTNESS!!!!! Jen almost got into a fight with me because she loves him. OMG that one scene where she sends him the pizza with "sorry" in M&Ms on it. Jen and I watched that scene eight times. IT WAS HER FAULT. She kept going, "Again? *rewind* aww... he's so hot!! Again? *rewind* *swoon*" I told her to stop after like five times, but NO!! Eh but then again, she likes the hot rocker.. with his guitar. I want to hear him sing.

Anyway, after that... Jen was subjugated to two hours of intensive McFly brainwashing. MWAHAHAHAAAHHAHAHAAHAH!!! I should so work for the Communist party, or the Democrats for that matter, or for some religious organization. She likes them, but she doesn't love them.. YET!!! I burned her three CDs and she's taking "Wonderland" to Chile with her, and she has to listen to them because I am going to quiz her on them when she gets back. So far.. she loves "Too Close for Comfort" and "All About You". YAY! My songs! "I've Got You", "I Wanna Hold You", "Don't Know Why", and "Memory Lane" have potential, but she abhors the first CD. *sigh* Too pop-ish. I wonder why all six of the aforementioned songs are my favorites... And after watching videos, she likes Dougie and Harry for looks, and Danny's voice. MINE!!!
So we went to bed around 3:30, after intensive McFly treatment, and then we start talking. Jen likes to have music playing when she goes to sleep, and so we had "All About You" on repeat. Alright when Danny is singing, Elaine can't sleep. So I talked and talked and talked until like 5 AM. I think we said "Good night" at least four times, and then SHE would start me on something new.

Drove home in the morning. yes I drove home.

Rehearsal last night was interesting. All those costume changes. I HATE THAT DRESS. If Michael doesnt' step on it, I step on it. I almost died.

Had a test in photo today. It was SO FREAKIN EASY!! We had an hour to do it, and I finished in 15 minutes. So she was just like, "be back by 10." So I just sat outside and talked to Shayne on the phone. I learned many things, especially how to tell the difference between a raccoon and a badger. Thank you Shayne, o hiking guide. If I ever go camping, remind me to bring Shayne. TENNIS?! TENNIS SHAYNE TENNIS?!

We're all here trying to find some meaning in our lives, a reason to wake up in the morning and do the things we have to do. Staying alive for one another. Why else go through so much trouble every day? Feeling all the pain, doing all the work, getting hit by all the curveballs and sneak attacks, taking the wounds, healing them, hiding the scars.
But what happens when your reason for existing is completely shattered? (Andy--I think this is semi-Gatsby inspired.) OOOO PERFECT EXAMPLE!!!! OH ANDY WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THIS LAST NIGHT WHEN I WROTE THE ESSAY?!? JAVERT!! He spends his entire life dedicated to the law, every last nuance of it, never bending, never sympathizing. According to him, the law is never wrong. A criminal is a criminal, and he always will be so. So when Valjean proves this wrong, he can't take it, and does the whole, "THERE IS NO WAY TO GO ON!!!!!" *JUMP* scene that people who are seeing Les Miserables and don't know what happens, I'm sorry for ruining it. Or Gatsby, when he realizes that his entire life's dream, that if he gets really wealthy, Daisy will someone love him again, is false, he shoots himself. (Sorry for all people in my grade for ruining it!)
I guess people have coined it "the breaking point". So how far can a person bend and not break? (ooo dashboard song) What do each of us stay alive for? What are the dreams that drive us, that make us wake up in the morning? Going to college? Getting a good job? Getting married? Starting a family The road of life is stretched before you, awaiting your eager tread, and when you look back 60 years from now, you can see your footsteps and where they've lead. (Whoa lead and tread rhyme)

I have no idea what was the point of that rant.
But I ranted.

Alright I get along with some people.
I really need to work on it. From what I've gathered, especially from some of the closest friends, the first impression of Elaine is that she's scary. I apparently come off as a bit intimidating, know-it-all, and conceited. People are afraid to talk to me.

Elsa: She's too smart, it's scary. I can't talk to her. She might eat me.
Vicki: She's that one girl in history class that knows everything.
Kristina: Ahh she's too smart. She seems conceited.
Jen: She's weird.. she actually pays attention in bio.

And then they somehow overcome that barrier, and they realize that far from being smart, I am the world's biggest idiot, and I'm absolutely, insanely ridiculous. And all is fair and well.

But that's also bad, because most people don't overcome the horrible first impression so they never see the insanity.

I guess I'm just hating the girls at theatre. They either look at me like I have six heads (the insane side) or just ignore me completely. Excuse me if I don't want to practice losing my virginity before I'm 18.

But it's frustrating because I have to spend so much time with these people. Is is true that Troy kids can't get along with other kids or something? Does Troy like do something to our social functions so that we only get along with each other? Or do I just fail?

I don't know what it was that made me say it today. So Cameron (Marius) was supposed to be warming us up because Jenn (director) didn't feel like it. This guy can't play the A major scale without making a mistake. Gah. So he wanted us to do this warmup that was like: do-mi-ray-fa-mi-so (C-E-D-F-E-G) Except he couldn't even play it.
I don't know what made me say it aloud.

Because it took Chinese doctors six months in and out of a freakin hospital to realize that my grandfather has lung cancer, and he is now in the terminal stage. So my dad is leaving for China on Wednesday, the 19th. My mom left for Atlanta for business this morning, and won't be back till the 26th. So guess who's completely alone for that entire week? Me. Illegal driving here we come. Elaine cooking.. *shudder* I'm supposed to try and bum rides off people for as much as I can, but if I have to, I'll drive. I don't know when Kathleen's getting back. Her entire family's in China and she has internship. Vicki's at camp and her family's in England. GAH. My mom suggested over the phone that I stay with Matthew because she trusts his mum. She's like, "You're so stupid. What the hell did you do to him? What'd you say to him that finally pissed him off? Why don't you two talk anymore? What's wrong with you? If you were, you could go stay with them." I hung up on her.

I'm so tired...

I just realized how good of a song "She Falls Asleep, Part 2" is.

I had the best dream last night/this morning. Like, one of the best dreams EVER. Probably tied with the dream when I was in that boat on a river with that one nameless guy with green eyes.

But this, the guy had a name. Actually, it's a name all of you know very well, because this blog is like a shrine to him: DANNY!
I know Harry was there, and we were at some park, and then we bumped into Connie, of all people. Not like I have anything against Connie, but she is the last person I'd think of when I think of McFly. And like... it was somehow like, a reliving of my childhood too. Like somehow Danny and Harry found this tape of my entire childhood, or at least random moments from it. Like my old bed, with the 101 dalmatians blanket that I still have, and like, with Kathleen in preschool playing on that one hill in the playground. And my dad reading me stories every night.
And nice things with Danny that I won't go into detail about occurred as well. NO YOGIN WE DIDN'T HAVE SEX. I swear in the morning, I'm like, "I just had a really nice dream."
And he's like, "Which guy?"
"Danny. How'd you know it was a guy?"
"You said it was a nice dream. It had to be with a guy."
"Oh."
"You had sex, right?"
"WHAT?! NO!!! YOGIN!!!"

It was just really... nice.

WELL LET ME REPHRASE

Kathleen is the best.

So on the fourth of July (yes I know like 5 days late), I went to her house because she was stuck with aunt, her cousin, and her aunt's bf, since her family's in China, and she wanted company, so I came over. We ate dinner, and we were the only ones clamoring and giggling and screaming at the awkwardly quiet dinner table. I wasn't very welcome, but I didn't care. Kathleen was there. It was her house, not their house, and technically it was almost more my house than their house because I'd been there more often. So after dinner, I was like, "Kathleen, let's go for a walk. Let's perambulate (ooo SAT word last week)." So we strolled along her neighborhood to the park, and then we got on the swings. We just kept swinging and swinging, screaming, laughing, and talking the entire time. It was just like we'd done every weekend when we were younger. And then gradually, as we got tired, we just sat on the still swings and talked that way. I hadn't seen her in ages, but that's the great thing about Kathleen and me. It doesn't matter how long we've been apart, we pick up as if it were yesterday. I am a seriously insecure person when it comes to distance and friendships and change and all that, if you haven't noticed, but with Kathleen, I am absolutely and completely secure. We couldnt' get rid of each other if we tried.

And then after that, we got into her aunt's bf's car and went searching for fireworks. We never really got to see fireworks because of technical complications in Kathleen's aunt's control (including her getting mad at us), but it was just fun. Sitting on the floor in the back of the van, feeling like people getting smuggled, watching McFly videos on my ipod, slowly converting her. Then when we finally got back to her house, we pulled two chairs into the backyard and sat gazing at the stars. We started singing Disney songs and it was just all so romantic.
Except, with Kathleen.
I love it.

And then tonight she came over. (With Kathleen, if she says she's going to be here around 6 PM, she'll be here at EIGHT. *COUGH COUGH*)
We sat on the couch and watched McFly videos, laughed and talked, for an hour and a half. She loves them!!!! And then she's like, "Alright I'm gonna go." So we just stood at the door, keys in hand, shoes on, talking about absolutely unimportant stuff. But it was so much fun. I molten rock that lady. (molten rock=lava=love)

Little things make me happy.
