One thing I love about New England is how the weather is never the same two days in a row. Yesterday, Homecoming, was pouring all day and grey and dismal. Today is as beautiful a fall day as there is in New England. I feel like going out to take pictures, which I just might do. Maybe it's learning all about the weather in French class that makes me talk about all this, but it's days like these that make me feel so grateful to be here.

My life is an interesting thing. This week is my first week as editor-in-chief, so I'll be seriously sleep-deprived and probably happy just to be alive on Wednesday. We had our first choir concert last night! So my first choir concert ever! It went pretty well. We sounded worse than we ever have before at call time, but then went on stage and did it the best ever. My friends filled up the entire first row, which made me smile and feel so loved as I walked on stage. They're so great, all waving, smiling, and making faces. And I love it that boys have to wear tuxes for choir. I love boys when they dress up.

Afterwards, I really couldn't find my boots or umbrella, so went on an epic search that ended up revealing the boots but not the umbrella. Grr. We went back to the dorm, and my room was quickly invaded by Florian, Camille, Shannon, Alec, Tim, and Andrew. It was crazy. What happened to homework party? Instead, we ate obscene amounts of candy (especially Tim, but he won't gain a single ounce from it), were subjected and scarred for life by terrible music (DJ Florian is NEVER happening again), and generally had an awesome time. I love that. It doesn't matter what you're doing as long as you're doing it with friends. Good times will ensue. I'm gradually settling back into being single, and I'm totally okay with it about 95% of the time. It's not a question of being single. It's more just being sad to lose a friend, but hopefully that will come back with time as well.

It's so pretty. I need to go outside! But I also have to read the most boring history book in the world and then write a paper on it. Grr! Oh. And Liverpool crushed Man Utd today, so it's a good day all around. :)

Wow I haven't posted in a while. Bad Elaine! Let's see... Liverpool just lost to Chelsea, which is very depressing. I received my first paycheck in my entire life on Friday! I haven't deposited it yet. Have to do that sometime today. I'm also going to become editor-in-chief of our newspaper in two weeks, which I'm not sure how I feel about. So much work. So little time. So many things to do. I need more hours in a day. Here's a list of my activities:
-Classes (obviously)
-newspaper
-Women's Chorus
-singing in a friend's thesis
-Museum Assistant at the Emily Dickinson House
-Research Assistant in French Department
-Spanish House president
-Chinese with Dad

And then I have to find time, of course, for friends and the boyfriend. Speaking of that, there is a new boy. I really didn't plan it to happen this way, but it just kind of did, and I guess it was too good to pass up. :) All in all, life is extremely stressful, but I'm also very happy. Thus, all is well. For now. :)
