yes... eowyn is very nice. Though i must say that her book character is vastly prefferable to the semi-travesty played by miranda otto. I think i've sid often enogh that i find it next to impossible to separate the books from the movies, and thus, she falls far short of the heights which i have set for her... depressing, no?
eh...i dont like this eowyn...she aint hot...hehe im shallow...but i dont really like her character in the movie either...she's just really annoying to me...but maybe its just me...(i havent read the book so i wouldnt know about that)
Everybody has some intellectual comment until "SHE AINT HOT." Oy. DotHead. Come on.
I can't stand Eowyn, book or movie. It's the classic image of "Gimme a sword! I can fight too!" Come on girly, no you can't. You get your arm busted up by ScaryMan without even giving much of a fight. A Hobbit has to finish your job, for goodness' sake. (Go Hobbits.)
I really am rather taken aback by this sudden onrush of anti-eowyn sentiment. I truly did not intend for her character (and by this I mean BOOK character) to be thus marred by my commentary. At the very least, I think her loyalty to Theoden is commendable. And I really do adore the manner in which she is described: "Like a morning of pale spring still clining to winter's chill." (Obviously, here referring to when ARAGORN says it in the book, and not when Grima says it in the movie.) I'm always reminded of Snow Drops in the spring...
who really cares about the book...i mean seriously...the movie gives the visual and peter jackson is a genius...now i shall wait for all the book is beautiful and way cooler than the movie sentiment....and just cuz im stupid jack...dont be baggin on me dogg!!!! lol
Words utterly fail to express my disgust at what has been now stated with such blitheness above. This is truly comparable to the travesty of Hemingway's works and earns you a spot alongside him as a boetian wittol of the worst order. I suppose, one such as you cannot be expected to appreciate the beauty and light shining from within those marvelous creatoins. And yet, I must recall that even the orcs are capable of recognizing beauty, even if they detest it. You apparently outstrip even them in terms of sheer ignorance and stupidity in your failure to acknowledge the majesty of Tolkein's works. I can only say that it was, perhaps, your wisest decision of the evening to remain anonymous, though I daresay that will prove litte protection enough in the days to come...
Oh dear... I'm afraid typos may have detracted from the overall vehemence of all that... Allow me to correct, at the very least, one: "Tolkien's" rather than "Tolkein's". That is, to me, the most grevious...
yet...i dont really care...u could demote me down to hemingway's side but does that i mean really mean anything to me??? especially when ur the one who hates hemingway and not me...i think hemingway's a brilliant writer...i know most ppl on this blog...including its owner will not agree...but i must say that i guess its good that im not conforming to the blog peeps...even though i really should just to not get my butt kicked...but eveyone has their own opinions about everything and i respect ur opinion about tolkien...now i only wish that u could respect my opinion...and by no means am i saying he's a horrible writer...because he's not...dont get me wrong there...i just believe...that the way lotr was written....is very not appealing to me...but thats just me...i did love his hobbit though and for that i do admire him...more than hemingway...but for his trilogy...until i guess i can "appreciate" its not boringness...i will always believe that the movies are way better than the book...
if i did offend anyone...i am terribly and most sincerely sorry...i hope u accept my apologies and good night to you all
wow... who knew that a picture of Eowyn (that I actually posted just cuz I love the dress and the way the wind is billowing through it) could cause so much controversy
